Fresh Habits Ahead
FRESH HABITS AHEAD
Recycling in Lewisham is the right way forward
Drop long-standing habits and you will see
It’s not rocket science; it is quite straightforward
Request green/black compost bins from the Council; it’s free
Teach the household the new routine
That is certainly the key    Â
Surprisingly you may find the family very keen        Â
Place paper, cardboard, glass and plastic bottles, tin, cans etc. in the green bin
Rinse containers first, it is good hygiene
Try not to put stuff aside in the kitchen
Compost food scrap, shredded paper and some garden waste
               Or anything else therein
Find a spot in the garden for compost bin, in haste
It stands at 2ft 10 inches and a little bit more
And likely to stand just above one’s waste
Items can also be collected from the front door
Clean clothing, shoes, boots, hats, bags and alike
               Secure a booking therefore
Recycle electrical goods at the Recycling Centre; fridges and suchlike
Glass is ground back into sand to mend our roads          Â
              It’s all sheer business-like
Place a sticker on an old mattress; await a free-load
Pray that it does not rain; hallowed
